Position Overview
Lead and supervise building control within the City of London Corporation’s District Surveyor’s Office.
Location: Guildhall
Salary: £74,000 - £82,050 (inclusive of Inner London Weighting and Market Force Supplement).
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:15am – 5:00pm with a 45‑minute unpaid lunch break.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the building control team, ensuring the viability and standing of the District Surveyor’s Office.
- Deliver world‑class building control services for large, multi‑tenanted, heritage, and cultural projects.
- Collaborate with eminent designers and contractors on a portfolio of multi‑million‑pound office, retail, hotel, and residential developments.
- Maintain professional competence through internal and external training systems.
- Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Regulator and relevant professional bodies.
Qualifications
- Class 3 Registered Building Inspector.
- Experience working in a competitive building control environment.
- Strong technical and professional skills required for the role.
