The role

We are seeking to recruit a Security Officer working 35 hours per week (flexibly). Principal duties are to ensure the safety of Court users, monitor CCTV, and scan facility users using X-ray machines and handheld metal detectors. Successful candidates will undertake duties within the CCC precinct, including public galleries.

About you

Candidates must be flexible and adaptable in their approach and have proven experience working in high-volume/high-volatility environments, with a proven track record in Customer Service. Candidates should have a Customer Services/Social Care/Security NVQ or the recognised equivalent. Good written and oral communication skills are essential, along with the ability to undertake delegated tasks effectively in an emergency situation. A SIA Door Supervisor licence would be desirable, and a willingness to obtain one within the first 6 months is an essential requirement.

Working Pattern

The successful applicants will be contracted to work 35 hours weekly: working 7 hours Monday to Friday, excluding a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break. Working hours will vary to meet the security service’s needs. Successful applicants will be required to commence duties between 07:00 and 11:00 am and conclude the shift between 15:00 and 19:00 hours.
