Salary: £34,880 - £38,388 per annum (inclusive of Inner London Weighting and 11% unsocial hours working allowance)

Contractual Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible).

Hours of Work/Pattern: Monday to Sunday, shift start 07:00–11:00, end 13:00–19:00. Bank holidays are worked.

Basis: Full-Time, Fixed Term - 12 months

About us: The Central Criminal Court has been London’s principal criminal court for centuries, known for its historic trials and prominent legal figures.

The role: We are seeking a Security Officer to work 35 hours per week (flexibly) within the CCC precinct, including public galleries. The principal duties are:

  • Ensure the safety of Court users and staff
  • Monitor CCTV and assess visual activity
  • Screen facility users using X‑ray machines and handheld metal detectors
  • Respond to incidents and coordinate with emergency services as required
  • Maintain accurate logs and report observations to supervisory staff

About you: Candidate requirements:

  • Flexible and adaptable in a high‑volume, high‑volatility environment
  • Proven experience in customer service with a track record of high standards
  • Customer Service, Social Care or Security NVQ, or recognized equivalent
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to undertake delegated tasks effectively in emergency situations

Desirable: SIA Door Supervisor licence; willingness to obtain within first 6 months

Voluntary overtime opportunities are available and paid at an enhanced rate.
