The City of London Corporation through the City Bridge Foundation, the trustee of a 900‐year‐old historic charity, is seeking a senior leader to provide strategic and operational leadership of the Foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall strategic direction, leadership and management of the charity, reporting to the Chair of City Bridge Foundation and the Town Clerk & Chief Executive of the City of London Corporation.
  • Work closely with elected Trustees, providing strategic advice, ensuring strong governance, legal compliance and effective decision‐making.
  • Be accountable for stewardship, maintenance and security of the bridges, including Tower Bridge.
  • Lead the Foundation's charitable funding and social investment activity.
  • Manage a senior leadership team and a workforce of around 160 staff, fostering a positive, inclusive and high‐performing culture.
  • Promote best practice in charitable governance and funding as Head of Profession for Charities across the City of London Corporation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Senior leadership experience operating in a complex organisation or charity/non‐profit sector or a public‐facing body.
  • Strong knowledge of charitable governance and regulation.
  • Sound financial and commercial judgement.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with Trustees, senior officers and external partners.
  • Commitment to values‐led leadership, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Contract and Remuneration

  • Salary: £137,120 – £157,670 per annum.
  • Contractual hours: 35 per week.
  • Basis: Permanent.
  • Workplace category: Hybrid.
  • Location: Guildhall.
