Overview

We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our busy Marketing and Communications team at The City of Liverpool College. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone at the beginning of their marketing career who wants to gain experience across a range of digital and content-focused projects.

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain and update the College website, particularly course information, working closely with curriculum teams to gather, check and upload course content accurately.
  • Use our content management system (CMS) to format and publish website content, in collaboration with the wider team.
  • Help ensure all website content is clear, consistent, and accessible, within the College’s tone of voice and branding guidelines.
  • Provide administrative support for the Marketing and Communications team, including but not limited to scheduling, organising and maintaining our SharePoint site.
  • Assist with gathering content across the College when necessary, including event photography and student stories.
  • Work closely with curriculum teams to build strong relationships and stay informed about upcoming events or standout delivery that should be captured and promoted.
  • Support the delivery of student-facing events and content.

  • Comfortable using digital tools and systems such as Microsoft Office, with a strong interest in developing new digital skills

  • A proactive, team-focussed attitude, with a willingness to support wherever needed
  • Interest in technology and continuous improvement, with the ability to quickly learn and apply new systems

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience using a CMS or editing websites
  • An understanding of accessibility or content design principles
  • Familiarity with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Express or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience gathering or editing visual content, such as photography and video
  • Previous experience in an administrative, education, content-related or customer-facing role
