Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and account manage relationships with local employers.
- Deliver high quality apprenticeships by conducting workplace assessment and providing underpinning knowledge and support within the Gas and Plumbing workshop.
- Provide ongoing training and assessment so learners are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment.
- Screen potential new employers to ensure they understand apprenticeship obligations and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Ensure all employers offer sufficient opportunities for apprentices to develop skills and demonstrate competency in all areas.
- Participate actively in recruiting new apprentices through contact with local employers, schools, and events; secure a caseload sufficient to hit targets.
- Complete all required information under the projects, including Initial Assessment and Individual Learning Plan for each apprentice, and regularly review progress with apprentice and employer to keep them on track and intervene where needed.
- Achieve all targets within the agreed timescale.
- Maintain accurate progression, performance, and target information using the College’s e-portfolio (Smart Assessor) system.
- Lead Plumbing and Gas course review, internal verification, and manage external verification procedures with the Head of Quality.
- Undertake all other duties appropriate to the role and may be required from time to time.
Essential Criteria:
- Holds relevant assessor qualifications (internal verifier e.g. A1/V or TAQA) with a relevant teaching qualification.
- Holds English & Maths GCSE or equivalent.
- Effective communicator, able to engage all levels of management, apprentices, tutors, and employers.
- Willing to work flexibly, including evenings when required.
- Conversant with current assessment procedures and able to assess up to Level 3.
- Holds a current driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.
- Understands responsibilities relating to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.
- Understands equal opportunities and maintains a positive attitude towards them.
- Maintains compliance with all school and college requirements relating to Health and Safety.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience and/or holds a Level 4, degree or other relevant qualification in an appropriate subject.
- Holds relevant assessor qualifications (internal verifier e.g. A1/V or TAQA) with a relevant teaching qualification.
