You will be responsible for administering the college’s digital assessment and adaptive learning technology, ensuring staff and students are supported to achieve effective integration. This is a blended role that combines digital expertise with excellent administrative skills. As a Digital Assessment Technologist, you will provide support across a range of schools for qualifications such as T‑Level and V‑Level and become the college expert in software such as Read/Write and JCQ / awarding organisation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating appropriate technical support and guidance materials for staff and students in a range of formats for both adaptive technology and assessment platforms such as Read/Write.
  • Delivering training and awareness sessions to staff and students to promote excellence in the normal way of working with adaptive technologies, including creating the relevant material, scheduling and associated administration.
  • Communicating with colleagues regarding the features of approved adaptive technology, promoting its use and supporting staff and students when required to ensure effective utilisation.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical or user‑related issues to digital assessment.
  • Complying with all legislative requirements including accessibility, data protection and college policy.
  • Becoming the college expert in digital assessment, with detailed knowledge of the qualification specification and specific requirements of delivering a JCQ‑compliant assessment.
  • Managing the secure recording, upload and download of assessment material in compliance with GDPR, JCQ and awarding organisation requirements, supporting T‑Level and future V‑Level assessment needs.
  • Maintaining an annual calendar of digital assessment activity, ensuring time and resources are effectively managed.
  • Creating and managing user log‑ons for digital assessment platforms, ensuring strict policy and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Participating in the development of the college’s digital assessment strategy by providing innovative solutions and staying informed of emerging trends in assistive learning technology.
  • Escalating incidents of suspected malpractice to the Exams Officer and senior leadership.
  • Working closely with the college’s Exams Officers, IT Technicians, Learning Support and Curriculum colleagues to deliver an excellent student experience for assessment technology.
  • Consistently demonstrating excellent communications skills and a customer‑focused approach, with the highest level of customer service.
  • Contributing fully to the mission and values statement of the College, ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of College life.
  • Other duties as directed by your line manager.

  • Excellent IT knowledge and experience of supporting customer‑facing software.
  • Significant experience of supporting stakeholders with digital technology.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting data.
  • Experience of delivering training to varied audiences, using a variety of delivery methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and self‑motivated.
