You will be responsible for proactively providing an effective and user-friendly student and applicant experience using a variety of communication channels, including telephone, email, and face-to-face communication.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all incoming college enquiries through a variety of channels, including telephone, email and face to face.
  • Consistently demonstrate excellent communications skills and a customer focused approach, with the highest level of customer service.
  • Accurately record communication records and action follow up items as appropriate.
  • Work closely with members of the curriculum team to build and share key information with interested parties in response to enquiries.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistency and accuracy of information.
  • Support the college’s marketing function by promoting key events where appropriate, and when requested proactively contact individuals or groups of individuals to share details of events and extend invitations.
  • Provide administrative support for other functions as required.
  • To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of College life.
  • Other duties as directed by your line manager.

Generic duties

  • To take proactive responsibility for Health & Safety to ensure that a safe working environment and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • To support cross college activities as required, such as open events or assisting with enrolment.
  • To understand roles and responsibilities around safeguarding all learners and contribute to maintaining a safe learning environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience of working in a customer service or telephony-based role.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven relevant experience of building strong working relationships (internally and externally).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or willingness to complete.
  • Good level of interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and self-motivated.
  • Strong IT literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.
