As a catering assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the provision of food services in the cafes, which operate over all 5 College sites. The cafes provide a hot and cold breakfast and lunch service to students and staff during term time, with a significant proportion of students receiving free meals.

As a catering assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the provision of food services in the cafes, which operate over all 5 College sites. The cafes provide a hot and cold breakfast and lunch service to students and staff during term time, with a significant proportion of students receiving free meals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of café services across all sites as part of the wider catering team, including operating tills and working on the servery.
- Assist in the preparation of food and beverage items for sale in the cafes.
- Ensure that the café, servery and kitchen areas are in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
- Provide a friendly, efficient and hygienic service to all customers.
- Work as part of the catering team to produce a food offer that is healthy, diverse, reflective of the student cohort, consistent in quality and sustainable.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of food and beverages for internal hospitality purposes or special events.
- Ensure compliance with all food service, health and safety and employment regulations.
- Undertake off the job and on the job training as required to ensure skills remain up to date.
- To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College Group ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of College life.
- To take proactive responsibility for Health & Safety to ensure that a safe working environment and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
- To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- To support cross college activities as required, such as organizing events or assisting with enrolment.
- To understand roles and responsibilities around safeguarding all learners and contribute to maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Experience of working in a catering or hospitality setting.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Commitment to engaging in staff development.
