A Management Analyst II job is available with the Park & Recreation Department in the Recreation Division. The Recreation Division is comprised of 21 community centers, the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, Log Cabin Village, and Aquatics. The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department is made up of 13,135 acres of parkland and includes 305 park and recreation facilities.

The Management Analyst II is responsible for analyzing all aspects of the financial system as it pertains to the Recreation Division including more than $14.5 million in general fund expenditures and ensuring the necessary funds are in the correct accounts and fund centers. The position reports to the Assistant Director and is responsible for supervision of administrative staff including training and administering performance appraisals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in the analysis of processes, procedures, operations, systems or methods, including experience in the functional area of assignment such as budget/financial management, research analysis or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accounts Payable and Purchasing
  • Capital & Operating Budgeting
  • Finance monitoring, reconciling, capitalization
  • PeopleSoft Financials, or similar ERP Financial suites
  • Oracle Hyperion (budgeting)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex financial issues
  • Supervisory experience
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist with the development of division's budget as it pertains to salaries, staffing, office supplies, machinery and equipment; assist with revenue analysis and fee benchmarking and review
  • Create supporting details for the budget; identify possible budget overruns
  • Review and prepare financial forecasts (for revenue and expenditure accounts)
  • Monitor and approve expenditures for the division
  • Provide a variety of analytical and research support on various projects
  • Compile, review and track document submittals to the Park & Recreation Advisory Board and City Council and review staff credit card purchases, and purchases in PeopleSoft Financials
  • Prepare and present reports, assist with planning, developing and implementing work plans to include goals and objectives and attend meetings regularly to gather information for the division and department

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
