Transport Technician – Waverley Court – Salary: £34,452 – £40,501, 36 hours per week. The City of Edinburgh Council is overseeing the development of three ambitious programmes to reduce harmful emissions associated with road transport: electric vehicle charging infrastructure, vehicle sharing through car clubs, and cycle hire. This permanent role sits within Network Management and Enforcement and supports the planning, development and delivery of these programmes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Transport Team Leader and two Transport Officers, handling all aspects of analysis, planning, contract development and management, project management and contractor performance.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain working relationships with multi‑disciplinary colleagues and stakeholders at various seniority levels.
- Gather information and insight, conduct site investigations and produce reports.
- Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders, analyse data and report on performance.
- Respond to customer enquiries, engage with the public and stakeholders, and support the team on a day‑to‑day basis as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Self‑driven with the ability to maintain high accuracy and manage competing priorities to meet challenging deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical project information to a wide audience.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic, able to progress a challenging and varied workload.
