Transport Officer, Behaviour Change – Fixed term until 31/05/2029

Location: Waverley Court

Salary: £40,501 - £47,639 (pro rata for part time)

Hours: 18 per week, 52 weeks

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Transport Strategy and Partnerships team for a Transport Officer (0.5FTE) to project manage the Dynamicity project. This is a 3‑year EU Horizon project across 12 European cities, with Edinburgh’s role focussing on behaviour change towards uptake of cycling.

The project will apply the 'Cycle Nation' methodology (developed by the University of Glasgow) to support members of the public to choose cycling for everyday journeys. The focus of the project will be in areas where Edinburgh has developed segregated cycling infrastructure.

The role will involve partnership working at both the local level, and across project partners (e.g. European cities and partner organisations).

The ideal candidate will be well organised, skilled in motivating others, and be able to successfully foster collaboration.

This is a fixed‑term, part‑time post running until the end of the project (31st May 2029). Please see the job description and person specification for more detail on this post.

Please note that for any travel undertaken as part of this role, council policy is to travel by sustainable means wherever possible.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone feels valued and able to be their best. We particularly encourage applications from women for senior roles, as well as people from minority ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities or neurodivergent people, care‑experienced people, carers and LGBT+ people across all levels of the organisation, all of whom are currently underrepresented. All applicants will be considered fairly based on skills and experience. Disabled and care‑experienced applicants who meet the minimum job criteria will be guaranteed an interview.
