We are seeking a full-time Teacher of Geography on a Fixed Term Contract until 26th June 2026 to join our busy Social Subjects faculty. This is a six-year comprehensive school in the North West Locality of the City of Edinburgh Council. The catchment area of the school covers Queensferry, Dalmeny, Echline and Kirkliston Primary Schools, as well as St Margarets RC Primary School at parent/carer request.
A few years ago we moved into our brand new school with excellent new resources and commanding views of the Forth Estuary (including the three bridges). The school roll is over 1,200 and rising. We have a strong ethos at Queensferry High School and are proud to create an atmosphere and learning environment which prepares young people with the knowledge and skills for a successful adult life. The school is firmly committed to raising attainment, promoting achievement and providing successful outcomes for all our young people.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
