Portobello High School is a six‑year comprehensive located in the east of Edinburgh with a roll of over 1,500 pupils drawn mainly from the five associate primary schools – Brunstane, Duddingston, Parsons Green, Royal High and Towerbank. Responsibilities
As an English teacher you will support our learners to develop their skills in English and literacy. You will design and deliver lessons across the Broad General Education (BGE) phase and the Senior Phase, teaching courses from National 3 to Advanced Higher. Your role will involve using a varied selection of resources and experiences, engaging learners with great texts and building confidence in using language positively.
Qualifications & Checks
- Have the necessary teaching qualifications recognised by the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
- Be willing to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme or undergo an update check.
- Provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check if you have spent 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years.
Salary & Benefits
Salaries are in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
