We offer training to support continuous professional development and deliver a broad range of interventions, including accredited group work programmes. We are proud of our innovative practice and are implementing Trauma Informed Care, Safe & Together and Restorative Justice practice models across our services.
Overview
We are seeking a Caledonian-trained social worker to join our Domestic Abuse Service working with men under statutory supervision or attending voluntarily. The post holder will undertake a range of tasks including:
- Court assessment and report writing
- Direct work with men placed on Community Payback Orders or who engage on a voluntary basis
- Co-facilitation of group work (e.g. accredited Caledonian Men's Programme, may include evening work)
- Leading risk management and contributing to safety planning for women and children
The role is informed by a knowledge and understanding of complex trauma and its impact.
Qualifications
- Candidates should hold a degree in Social Work and be registered, or eligible to register, with the SSSC.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, understanding of National Outcomes, Standards, and public protection.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to an inclusive culture that values diversity and lived experience.
Legal and Compliance
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. An unconditional offer will be subject to satisfactory outcomes of these checks.
