The Edinburgh City Health & Social Care Partnership (EHSCP) is on a journey to transform the way in which Social Work delivers support and services for those impacted by Mental Health and Substance Use.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Social Worker to join the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, within the fast paced and rewarding area of Mental Health and Substance Use. As a service we are committed to supporting individuals with complex mental health and/or substance use needs to engage with recovery focused care and treatment, while providing a trauma informed and person-centred social work service.
Responsibilities
- Line management of a small team of social workers and CCA’s, and work closely with health and partner agencies to develop care plans.
- Support people to remain safe and work towards their recovery goals in the community.
- Provide consistency across the 4 areas of the city and cover for other areas as needed.
- Develop the service and make use of local resources.
- Ensure compliance with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Social Worker who is committed to making a real difference to the lives of adult citizens of Edinburgh.
- MHO, Practice Educator and ASP qualifications are desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of working within Mental Health and Substance Use Services, Adult with Incapacity and Adult Support and Protection.
- Experience of managing others and working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of Recovery Focused and Conversations approach, and the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
