Responsibilities

  • Manage complex statutory rights requests such as Subject Access Requests (SARs), Freedom of Information requests (FOISA), and other related requests, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, FOISA, and other relevant legislation.
  • Provide clear, practical advice to Council services and support Information Rights Officers with case handling.
  • Contribute to improving the delivery of the information rights service.
  • Review casework, support colleagues, and work with a range of services to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

  • Experience in information rights and an in-depth understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Ability to apply legislation in a practical, balanced way.
  • Organised, confident communicator with a range of stakeholders, and able to manage competing priorities.

  • This position is subject to a Basic Disclosure check.
  • For individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will also be required.
