Overview

Pupil Support Officer – Fixed term until 25/06/2027 at Craigroyston Primary School. Salary: £30,188 – £34,452. Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional. Craigroyston Primary School seeks an enthusiastic, experienced candidate to join our team on a temporary part‑time basis. We welcome applications from those with a proven track record of supporting families and nurturing learners. The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships resulting in inclusion for all is essential. Our school benefits from a diverse staff team across a range of experiences and interests. We have a large pupil support team—including PSA, EYP and PSO practitioners—a vibrant ELC and 13 classes taught by a mixture of full‑time and part‑time teachers. The school has a Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher, Principal Teacher and Director of Education leading across the school. We are proud of our diverse and vibrant community. Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively as a member of the team within all education establishments, support pupils in meeting their educational, care and welfare needs, ensuring those with intensive and complex or a high level of language support needs can effectively access the curriculum.
  • Support the development and delivery of individual, group and whole‑school approaches and programmes in one or more specialist areas, including, but not limited to: bilingual support, attendance, care experienced, de‑escalation, neurodiversity.
  • Provide flexible support and assistance in the day‑to‑day operations of the school as directed by the school leadership team.
  • Address significant social, emotional and behavioural needs requiring provision of a high level of support for dysregulated behaviour.

Pre‑employment Checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. A mandatory overseas criminal record check will be required for individuals who have spent a continuous period of three months or more out of the UK in the last five years. All checks must be satisfactory before an unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post.
