Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare opened in August 2024. This exciting new centre provides high quality learning experiences for children and families as part of the MacMillan Hub. The successful candidates will be passionate about supporting children to be confident, capable individuals and helping them to achieve their full potential.
Our practitioners will be highly skilled at enhancing children’s learning and development, understand their role in supporting children to lead their own learning and will be enthusiastic about creating meaningful experiences and spaces with children in our beautiful new setting. They will be effective team members who will contribute to the ethos and values of our setting through good communication and professional discussion, using their training and knowledge to demonstrate their enthusiasm for Early Years.
The successful candidates will be required to work shift patterns within the setting, between the hours of 07.45hrs and 18.00hrs, Monday‑Friday, with some late shifts on rotation, within each month.
QualificationsPlease note - you must ensure that you have one of the following qualifications before you apply:
- SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7
- HNC Childhood Practice

Pre‑employment ChecksThis post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
