We are looking for a motivated individual with transferable skills to fill the role of Business Support Administrator working within our Building Standards Department. Edinburgh is a dynamic and growing city, and the Building Standards Team has a key role in the continued development of our capital city by processing around 5,000 building warrants a year. We aim to provide a seamless development consent process with close collaboration between professionals in different service areas. You can be part of this exciting journey, helping to facilitate these opportunities by providing direct support to our technical teams carrying out a wide range of administrative tasks.
You would be responsible for providing administrative and problem-solving support for Building Standards staff and external customers. You must be able to follow processes and handle sensitive and personal information in line with appropriate policies and guidelines. It would be desirable for the post holder to have knowledge of the Building Standards Service and experience with systems such as Uniform and IDOX DMS (although full training will be provided). Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Teams is highly desirable. We work in a hybrid way at this time which encompasses aspects of home and office working. Our modern open-plan offices are in Edinburgh City Centre, 5 minutes’ walk from Waverley Station.
