We are looking for a committed and dynamic Head Teacher to lead South Morningside Primary School. With an excellent track record in school management, you will use your strong interpersonal and leadership skills to deliver high quality learning in a warm and welcoming environment.
Set in the South of Edinburgh, South Morningside Primary is a non-denominational primary school with a school roll of 507 pupils. The 17 classes are located in a large Victorian building on Comiston Road which has been partially upgraded to provide an improved physical learning environment. The school benefits from a large playground with an outdoor classroom space and easy access to local parks and nature reserves.
The current school leadership team comprises of a Head Teacher, one full-time and one part-time Depute Head Teacher and one part-time Business Manager. There is one Support for Learning teacher (four days per week), a team of support staff and specialist teachers for PE, Drama and Music.
The principles of Curriculum for Excellence are central to our practice. Children benefit from high-quality teaching across all curriculum areas, alongside meaningful opportunities to develop leadership, independence and a sense of belonging. Staff work collaboratively to ensure consistent, nurturing approaches and to support every learner to achieve their potential.
