Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)

Hours: up to 32.4 per week, 39 weeks sessional

  • Post 1: 32.40 per week, 39 weeks sessional
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 7.45am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.45am to 12.25pm
  • Post 2: 28.66 per week, 39 weeks sessional
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8.20am to 3.15pm and Friday 8.15am to 12.30pm

Sighthill Primary School is a non-denominational primary school in the South-West of the city of Edinburgh. We have a current roll of circa 250 children from Primary 1 to Primary 7 and a large nursery with space for 70 children. Sighthill Primary School is situated in an area of high deprivation and, as such, benefits from additional funding to support our learners in a variety of ways, such as through our nurture provision and school farm. We are a Nurturing School (Nurture UK) and strive for our school to be a warm and caring environment for all our children, families and staff. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
