We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Development Officer to join the Housing and Homeless Commissioning and Contracts team. The successful applicant will support our Commissioning and Contracts Officers in procuring, contract managing, and supporting processes such as development and payment of several suppliers and providers working to deliver the outputs and objectives of key strategic plans for the City of Edinburgh Council, including the Local Housing Strategy and the Rapid Rehousing transition plan.
This post holder is crucial to delivering the key objectives of the service and preventing homelessness in Edinburgh. You will work with internal and external multi‑disciplinary teams to find the best solutions through local and national contracting agreements to support front‑line services.
A large part of your work plan will focus on supporting the Housing Contracts team to embed new processes and procedures related to invoicing and payments for our contractors and providers. You may also be expected to support peers in delivering the service workplan related to capital works, repairs and homelessness commissioned service delivery.
We are looking for candidates who can be innovative in their approach and are eager to assist providers so they can meet the needs of our council tenants and landlords while meeting statutory requirements. The successful candidate must have the relevant qualification(s) and the knowledge or ability to learn end‑to‑end contract management processes and procedures. Preferable experience includes contract administration, public sector business support or banking and payments services.
