Exciting opportunity to join Film Edinburgh, the City of Edinburgh Council's Film Office. We have a 36-hour/week opening in the Film Office to work with the Film, Screen and Cinema Manager to promote and facilitate filming in Edinburgh, East Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
We are looking for a friendly, focused, good communicator with an eye for detail, a passion for film and TV and an extensive knowledge of the landscape of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and the Scottish Borders. You will work with filmmakers directly, providing specialist advice about location filming in urban and rural locations in line with the Code of Practice for Filmmaking.
You will be tasked with keeping our Locations Library up to date and photographing new locations, checking in with crew and production services to make sure their Production Guide listings are accurate, logging filming enquiries and processing filming applications. You will also be able to use your social media skills to help create content for Film Edinburgh's digital platforms to raise awareness of the region as a filming destination to both industry and the community at large.
Part of the Council's Culture Service, you will be at the heart of Edinburgh's support for cultural activities in the city and will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Council to maintain and develop Edinburgh's reputation as a vibrant and sustainable world leading cultural capital. Based in the City Chambers on Edinburgh's Royal Mile, you will also get out and about visiting new locations and film sets in Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and the Scottish Borders.
