Facilities Assistant in the Niddrie/Craigmillar/Inch area of Edinburgh.

Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro-rata for part-time)

Hours: 0 per week (casual contract)

This role offers flexibility, allowing you to pick up shifts that suit your availability while supporting our service during busy periods or staff absence.

As a Facilities Technician with the City of Edinburgh Council, you'll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver a vital janitorial service across our estate to ensure our properties are a safe place to work or learn in. MAJOR TASKS/JOB ACTIVITIES

  • Undertake day to day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, ranging from small repairs and general maintenance to reactive cleaning, supporting moves and conducting basic security functions.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
