Salary: Β£30,188-Β£34,452 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks per year
The hours for this post are:
Monday to Thursday 8am β 4.30pm and Fridays 8am β 12noon.
Lorne Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced candidate to join our Early Years team on a permanent basis. The position is for a full time Early Years Practitioner, initially based in our Primary 1 classroom, working alongside our Primary 1 Class Teacher to support the delivery of play pedagogy.
From August 2027 the successful candidate will join our Nursery team. We have a lovely small nursery, with a close-knit team providing Early Learning and Childcare for up to 20 children. Over time the role will continue to rotate between our Nursery and Primary 1 learning environments.
Lorne Primary School is a small, supportive school community with a committed team of teachers, practitioners and support staff working together. The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships resulting in inclusion for all is essential.
We have a diverse pupil support team consisting of PSA, EYP and PSO practitioners, a vibrant ELC and, 7 classes taught by a mixture of full time and part time teachers. The school has a HT, PT and BM leading across the school.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
