Early Years Assistants - Fixed term until 18/12/2026

Maybury Primary School ELC

Salary: £26,806 to £27,032 (pro rata for part time)

Hours:

  • Post 1: 36 hours per week. Working pattern: Varying start and finishing times between 7:45am and 6:15pm, Monday to Friday
  • Posts 2 and 3: 18 hours per week. Working pattern: 9am to 1:45pm Monday to Thursday

Maybury Primary School ELC is looking for 3 passionate Early Years Assistants to join our established ELC team. The successful candidates will work collaboratively as a member of the early years team within all council early years provision. Assisting in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of all children ensuring those with additional support needs who are able to attend a mainstream provision can effectively access the curriculum.

To be flexible and assist in carrying out general clerical duties as and when required in support of children’s learning. To provide support and assistance in the day-to-day operations of the School/Early Years Centre as directed by the Head Teacher/Head of Centre or nominated staff.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
