Early Years Assistant - Fox Covert Early Years Centre in Edinburgh

Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro-rata for part time & sessional)

Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Fox Covert Early Years is a large, busy setting, with capacity for 85 children at any one time, attending various patterns of attendance between 8am and 6pm, 52 weeks per year. We work alongside our excellent term time Forest Kindergarten team, offering a blended placement for families who choose this pattern.

The Nursery is staffed with a friendly, supportive, energetic and passionate team, following a Froebelian approach. Our environments are natural, warm and welcoming, with nurturing and rich spaces, both indoors and out.

We are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, passionate and caring Early Years Assistant. Although no formal qualification is required, candidates should have a good basic education and be literate and numerate.

Early Years Assistants must apply for registration with SSSC within three months of being offered a post and must also gain a SVQ2/SCQF Level 6 qualification within 3 years of taking up the role. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
