Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 (pro rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional Monday to Friday

About the school

Juniper Green Primary School is a co-educational non-denominational primary school. It serves the residents of the Juniper Green, Baberton Mains and Colinton/Hailes areas of Edinburgh, a broad social mix. The school is a modern building with excellent educational facilities. There are 14 classes and a term time nursery class. The Headteacher and two Depute Headteachers all have a teaching commitment.

Role and expectations

We are looking for a hard-working individual to join our dynamic nursery staff team. The applicant should have the relevant qualifications and experience of working in early years and a commitment to contributing to a high-quality service with enthusiasm and creativity. The Nursery operates term time only and has capacity for 64 children. Our staff work together to get the right support, in the right way for every child. The team of Early Years Practitioners, Officers and Assistants work hard to ensure we are meeting the needs of all pupils. Staff are included and involved in decisions about the nursery and the way we work to support our children. Nursery pupils enjoy a large open plan play room, play activity area, parents’ room, a good all year outdoor space and access to the school wildlife garden for Forest Schools.

Regulatory and pre-employment checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
