Overview
Dean Park Primary is a thriving non-denominational primary school serving the village of Balerno in the Southwest of Edinburgh. The main school is organised into 20 primary classes and our nursery offers full-time spaces for up to 88 children. The school is split over two sites, with the nursery annexe situated in the heart of the village and the main school campus in the Marchbank housing estate.
Responsibilities
The Early Years Practitioner will work shift patterns within the setting between the hours of 08:00 and 16:15 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The successful post holder will be required to provide a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment for children and support the wider nursery team in delivering the curriculum.
Qualifications
- Relevant early years qualification (e.g. EYFS, Level 2, Level 3)
- Full statutory checks – a safeguarding PVG check and, if required, an overseas criminal record check.
- Experience working in an early years setting and a commitment to early years best practice.
Legal and Safeguarding
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG check update. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required and must be provided.
