Salary: £30,188 – £34,452 (pro‑rat) per annum. Hours and contract: Permanent Post – 21.16 hrs per week, 39 weeks sessional (Wed and Thu 7.42, Fri 6.32). Fixed Term Contract – 36 hrs per week, 39 weeks sessional to 18/12/2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for Early Years Practitioners to join our team. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and will share our passion for ensuring the highest possible quality of learning for our young children.
Clermiston Primary School is a non‑denominational school which serves the Clermiston and Drumbrae area in the Northwest of the city and has a roll of 455, including 40 nursery pupils. The Senior Leadership Team consists of a Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher, one full‑time Principal Teacher, two part‑time Principal Teachers and a Business Manager. The nursery team consists of an Early Years Officer, Early Years Practitioners, Early Years Assistant and Early Years Domestic Support Assistant. The school is well resourced with technology and has excellent outdoor facilities including a large and exciting nursery garden which the team are continually developing.
Regulations and Checks
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will need to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both checks being deemed satisfactory.
