We are recruiting an experienced Early Years Officer to join our team at Davidson’s Mains Primary School Nursery on a full-time basis, Monday-Friday. Within our early years provision, children may attend between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm, 52 weeks of the year. To accommodate this, the successful candidate will be required to work on a weekly rotational shift pattern between 7.50 am and 6.00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of learning environments, planning, and interactions with children.
- Lead the planning within the playroom, ensuring high-quality learning experiences that meet the individual needs of all children.
- Support and develop the team to achieve the best possible outcomes for children in their care.
- Model excellent communication skills and effective deployment of team members to meet children’s needs.
- Deliver high-quality learning and play experiences indoors and outdoors.
Qualifications & Requirements

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
