Salary: £26,806 – £27,032 (pro rata for part time and sessional)

Hours: 12 per week, 39‑week sessional term

Dean Park Primary School serves the village of Balerno in south‑west Edinburgh. The school operates across two sites: a nursery annexe located in the heart of the village and the main campus within the Marchbank housing estate. We currently have capacity for 88 full‑time children in our nursery and a roll of 504 primary pupils. Our main campus is also undergoing an exciting expansion, with six new classrooms due for completion this year.

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to support children’s learning and wellbeing within a nurturing early years environment. The successful candidate will be a positive team player with a genuine passion for helping children thrive.

Preferred work pattern: Monday to Thursday 10:30am – 1:30pm, term time only.

Regulated work – This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of three months or more out of the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Applicants must provide these checks. An unconditional offer of employment will be subject to the outcome of both pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
