Overview

Calderglen Early Learning & Childcare is a large, busy setting, with capacity for 64 children at any one time, with various patterns of attendance between 8am and 6pm, term time and 52 weeks per year. Our setting has a friendly team who are supportive, energetic and passionate, following a Froebelian approach. We promote curiosity, exploration and challenge through natural, warm and welcoming resources and spaces. The nursery benefits from a rich social and cultural mix of families and its diversity is one of its main strengths. A highly skilled, dynamic and motivated staff team support the children and families.

We are now recruiting an enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to join our team on a fixed term basis to 17/02/2027.

Requirements

This position is sessional and the successful candidate will work 18 hours per week and be required to work shift patterns within the setting as follows:

  • Week 1: Mon Thurs 0900 - 1245, Fri 0900 - 1200
  • Week 2: Mon Thurs 1000 - 1345, Fri 0900 - 1200

Pre-employment checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
