Depute Principal Educational Psychologist Citywide
Hours: 28 per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £87,456 (pro rata for part time)
This is an exciting opportunity to join City of Edinburgh Council Educational Psychology Service at an important time of change.
We are looking for a skilled Depute Principal Educational Psychologist who demonstrates our Council behaviours of respect, integrity and flexibility, brings leadership qualities, vision and a relentless focus on improving outcomes for children and young people.
Under the leadership of the Principal Educational Psychologist, a post which is about to be advertised for recruitment, you will work alongside a team of Depute Principal Educational Psychologists.
You will lead a locality team of Educational Psychologists delivering the highest quality service to learning communities. Your leadership will ensure the Health and Care Profession standards for Educational Psychologists are met whilst also translating Service, authority and national priorities into practice.
To improve outcomes for children and young people you will be responsible for specific areas of strategic development within the Educational Psychology Service workplan. The workplan is informed by the wider Inclusion and Wellbeing Service Improvement Plan and the Edinburgh Learns for Life inclusion framework.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
