Location: Leith Academy

Salary: £26,205 - £26,525 (pro-rata for part-time)

Hours: 15 per week, 52 weeks

Working pattern: Monday – Friday 6am – 9am

Responsibilities:

  • Empty litter and recycling bins.
  • Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
  • Clean all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables.
  • Perform emergency and reactive cleaning as required (e.g. removal of graffiti, body fluid spillages, accidental spillages).
  • Care for and maintain cleanliness of all equipment used in carrying out the above duties.
  • Support cleaning tasks across other buildings as required.
  • Deliver to the cleaning specification requirements and cooperate with performance measurement so that the overall agreed standards are met.

Keyholder Duties:

As a Cleaning Operative, you will be a key holder to enable opening and closing of the buildings we service. This includes operating security alarm systems, closing accessible windows and doors, switching off lights, and ensuring premises are left safe and secure when closing.

Requirements / Vetting:

Post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more abroad in the past 5 years must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check. Unconditional offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory outcome of both pre‑employment checks.
