Posts are available in various primary schools across Edinburgh. All posts are based on-site in one primary school for 18hrs. Locations will be confirmed with candidates invited to interview and candidates will have the opportunity to indicate which posts they wish to be considered for. Locations included at this time are Maybury Primary School, Clermiston Primary School and Holy Cross Primary School; however, additional schools may become available.

The role of a Business Manager is to support the Headteacher in all non-curricular aspects of school management, ensuring these aspects operate effectively. Responsibilities include:

The successful candidate should have experience in some or all of these areas. Experience of leading support services in an educational setting is desirable; however, clear evidence of being an experienced and effective leader, alongside the ability to personally manage the day-to-day operations, is essential for this on-site post.
The Business Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing operational efficiency across Early Years and Primary within the school and working in partnership with multiple external agencies and contractors. The new Business Manager will have a positive, can-do attitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
