Position Details: Development Officer (Attendance) – fixed term until 29/06/2027. Craigroyston Community High School, Edinburgh, Scotland. Salary: £57,498. Hours: 35 per week.

About the School: Craigroyston Community High School is a non‑denominational secondary community school serving a catchment area in the northwest of Edinburgh. The school’s catchment is a designated area of high deprivation, with 40% free meal entitlement and about 10% LAC pupils. The school offers a zero‑exclusion approach and close links with partners. The curriculum aims to equip all pupils with a portfolio of skills, experiences and qualifications for the job market, encouraging stay to the end of S6. The Senior Phase links to employment and vocational courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the lates desk.
  • Daily anomaly checks and attendance calls home.
  • Attendance support for allocated House Team.
  • Lead targeted intervention groups for BGE pupils.
  • Attendance support for families.
  • Data analysis of targeted intervention group work.
  • Data analysis of whole school attendance.
  • Participation in Learning Community attendance working group.

Training and Checks:

The role is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Applicants who have spent a continuous period of three months or more abroad in the last five years must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check. Employment is conditional on satisfactory completion of these checks. Salaries are in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
