Edinburgh is a dynamic and growing city, and the Building Standards Team plays a key role in the continued development of our capital city. We handle around 5,000 building warrants each year, providing a seamless development consent process and working closely with professionals across different service areas. You can be part of this exciting journey, helping to facilitate development opportunities while ensuring construction works are designed and built to meet safety standards, support sustainable development, and protect occupants and the public.

Responsibilities:

  • Process building warrants and support Building Standards Surveyors and Senior Building Standards Surveyors in their activities.
  • Assist improvement projects for the service that help maintain high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage a diverse caseload independently or as part of a team, demonstrating good communication, IT, and organisational skills.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer‑service orientation with excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of quality assurance principles and an appetite for project delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to a high standard of customer care.
