Emerson Park is a luxurious Care Village situated in Hextable, near Swanley. This stunning care village comprises 47 independent living apartments as well as an 85 bedded nursing, residential and dementia care home.
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated Senior Nurse (RGN) to be part of our care team looking after our residential and dementia residents. We offer competitive hourly pay, paid breaks, uniform and paid DBS along with additional company benefits.
The Senior Nurse will be primarily responsible for promoting and delivering person-centered care with the Cinnamon care philosophy. The nurse will work within a team ethos with the resident’s choices, dignity, independence, and personal safety at the core of all clinical activity. Working always within their professional accountability and competences for their professional registration.
This is a 42 hours a week role, with 2 supernumerary days per week.
Main Responsibilities- Act as the named nurse for residents with nursing needs within the home, ensuring all risk assessments, care needs assessments and personal care plans are in place and evaluated as per Cinnamon policy.
- Undertake initial assessments of potential nursing residents moving into the home.
- Undertake medication audits and complete medication competency assessments with junior nurses and senior carers.
- Support referrals to the local safeguarding team, as determined by the needs of the service users, in conjunction with the Head of Care Services.
- Prepare DOLS / Standard authorization requests under the guidance of the Head of Care Services.
- Ensure effective collaboration and communication with the wider multidisciplinary team and outside agencies, acting as the resident’s advocate, as necessary.
- Support and where identified, take the lead in managing monthly routine medication for a defined area.
- Work in conjunction with the Head of Care Services to ensure that monthly medications are correctly ordered and booked in.
- In the absence of the Head of Care Services provide on-site cover over a 24-hour period.
- Alongside the Head of Care Servicer and Deputy to Head of Care Services cover the on-call process within the home over the weekends, with some on-site cover as well as on call.
- Physically and medically able to carry out duties and responsibilities with or without assistive aids.
- Up to date PIN number.
- Supervisory experience.
- Team player, self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and adaptable.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and work under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Highly proficient in using computer systems, preferably with experience in care-related software, and demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to new technology.
