At The Cinema Company, we design and deliver beautiful, high-performance smart homes and dedicated private cinemas for discerning residential clients. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, we are looking for an experienced AV Engineer & Programmer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a close-knit, design-led company working on some truly special residential projects — from whole-home automation and lighting control to reference-grade cinema installations.
About the Role
You will play a key role across the full project lifecycle, supporting installations from infrastructure through to commissioning and client handover. The role combines practical installation skills with programming and commissioning, working alongside our engineering and design teams to deliver a seamless end result.
Key Responsibilities
- First fix and second fix AV installations
- Rack building, cable management and system testing
- Commissioning and programming of Control4 smart home systems
- Lutron lighting system setup and programming (RA3 / HomeWorks experience advantageous)
- Installation and setup of distributed audio, video, networking and cinema systems
- Diagnosing faults and supporting service calls where required
- Working closely with project managers, designers and other trades on site
- Ensuring installations meet The Cinema Company's high technical and aesthetic standards
What We’re Looking For
We are keen to hear from engineers who already have a few years’ experience within the AV or smart home industry and are looking to progress within a specialist, design-focused company. Ideal experience includes:
- Proven first & second fix AV installation experience
- Control4 configuration and programming knowledge
- Lutron lighting control experience (training can be supported)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals
- Rack building and system commissioning experience
- A tidy, methodical and quality-driven approach to installation
- Excellent communication skills and a professional client-facing manner
- Full UK driving licence
