Job Description

Key Areas of Responsibility

Responsible for the IOH Actuarial pricing and consulting team and all associated tasks reporting to the Head of Pricing and Consulting

  • Establish quarterly forecasts along with the monthly roll-forward analysis against forecast.
  • Complete pricing studies in line with IH best practice.
  • Test and incorporate new approaches to pricing tasks including new variables and efficiencies.
  • Develop Consultancy Guidance trend insights and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Communicate collaboratively and effectively with business partners around emerging results and outlook.

  • Build strong working knowledge of the business and actuarial processes to provide meaningful and understandable updates to business partners.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners through periodic standing calls across multiple areas.
  • Partners include market finance teams, FP&A, accounting business partners, compliance area, and claims operations.

Staff Leadership and Development

  • Lead a team of actuaries in achieving the goals outlined above and ensure objectives are achieved in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Create a supportive team environment that includes training and development, regular feedback, support for exam progress, and ongoing career counselling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of actuarial experience preferred
  • FSA designation preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude
  • Strong leadership qualities
