Christ Church, Oxford, as Patron, and the Bishop of Rochester seek to appoint a Vicar for the Parish of

St Peter’s Pembury

Pembury is a village of just over 6,000 people on the edge of the High Weald, three miles from Tunbridge Wells. St Peter's Pembury is seeking a new Vicar as we continue to grow in worship, service and discipleship.

We are a broad, liberal and inclusive parish, living out the Gospel through worship, hospitality and service at the heart of our community.

We are seeking a Vicar who will:

  • embrace and champion our identity as a broad, liberal, liturgical and inclusive parish;
  • nurture and inspire us through preaching, worship and a deep love of the Eucharist
  • share Christ's love through visible pastoral ministry and care;
  • encourage discipleship and help us grow our ministry with children, young people and families;
  • work collaboratively with lay leaders and the congregation to strengthen fellowship and shape our future together
  • be a recognised and valued presence in the village, building on our strong relationships with schools, community organisations and neighbouring churches.

Among the strengths of the parish are:

  • a friendly, welcoming congregation spanning the generations
  • committed churchwardens, PCC and lay leaders and 2 Licensed Lay Ministers
  • strong links with the Primary School, Kent College, local care homes and village life
  • a flourishing programme of worship, pastoral ministry and occasional offices
  • a comfortable four-bedroom vicarage within walking distance of church and village amenities.
