Join to apply for the Racial Equity Coordinator role at The Church of England. The Diocese of Leicester is seeking a committed and organised individual to support the rollout of our Racial Equity Strategy. Working closely with the Director of Racial Equity, you’ll help drive positive change across our churches and the wider diocesan community.

Be part of a vibrant, multicultural Diocese committed to equity and inclusion. This role involves engaging with diverse communities and coordinating initiatives to address systemic racial disparities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive and operational support for the Diocese’s racial equity work.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver training, events, and projects that promote anti-racist practice.
  • Build strong relationships with local communities, churches, and schools to foster collaboration and inclusion.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and initiatives addressing racial disparities.
  • Manage communications, publicity, and social media to raise awareness of racial equity work.
  • Organise and facilitate racial equity training, events, and conferences.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including diary and meeting management.
  • Engage with UKME/GMH parishioners and community members to create collaborative anti-racism responses.
  • Develop and deliver communication strategies, including online and print publicity.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of racial equity policies and projects.

What we’re looking for (Qualifications)

  • Experience coordinating programmes, initiatives, or events in a professional, voluntary, or faith-based context.
  • Excellent administration, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Strong personal commitment to racial justice, equity, and anti-racism.
  • High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Office/Teams/Zoom) and attention to detail.
