The Portsmouth Diocesan Board of Finance is seeking a highly organised and professional Safeguarding Caseworker Administrator to join our dedicated Safeguarding Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting safeguarding activity across the Diocese of Portsmouth, helping to ensure that children, young people and vulnerable adults are protected and supported.
Working as part of a busy and professional team, you will coordinate a wide range of safeguarding administration, maintain sensitive records, support meetings and training events, assist with safeguarding communications, and help monitor safeguarding activity across the Diocese.
About The Role
This is a varied and pivotal position requiring excellent organisational skills, discretion, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You will work closely with safeguarding professionals and diocesan colleagues, helping to ensure that safeguarding processes are effective, efficient and responsive.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate safeguarding administrative processes and support the wider Safeguarding Team.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records, databases and documentation.
- Prepare meeting papers, take minutes and monitor follow-up actions from safeguarding meetings.
- Organise safeguarding training events, including attendee communications and record-keeping.
- Assist with safeguarding communications, newsletters and guidance updates.
- Collect, analyse and maintain safeguarding data to support reports, dashboards and continuous improvement.
- Support website content management, ensuring safeguarding information remains accurate and accessible.
- Process safeguarding-related invoices and respond to general enquiries, escalating concerns appropriately.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- has substantial administrative experience within a busy, complex or sensitive environment;
- is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities independently;
- demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential information;
- has excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- is confident using Microsoft Office applications and databases;
- has experience of monitoring, evaluating and reporting on information and outcomes.
Desirable experience:
Experience supporting safeguarding, compliance or casework functions would be advantageous, as would knowledge of safeguarding within a charitable, faith-based or Church of England setting.
