The Diocese of Carlisle is committed to growing more disciples of Jesus Christ, strengthening local churches in mission, worship and discipleship across Cumbria. The Cumbrian Way is the Diocese’s joined‑up vision for church planting, revitalisation and renewed local mission. In Barrow Deanery, this vision is taking shape through Rising Faith Barrow, which seeks to revitalise churches in four of our key parishes, plant new congregations and strengthen mission to and the discipleship of youth and children.

Responsibilities

Working with the Project Lead (Rural Dean, Rev. Robin Ham), the Operations and Support Manager will be vital in resourcing local churches to develop new mission, new programmes, new leaders and new systems to support sustainable mission. If you are organised, proactive, and good at helping people, projects and systems work well, and have a passion for communities, the church, the good news of Jesus and excellence in organisational leadership and culture we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications & Requirements

This is a part‑time position 0.8 FTE. Permanent role (externally funded initially until 2030). Salary £31,795 FTE (£25,436 pro rata) plus 15% non‑contributory pension. This post is subject to an occupational requirement that the postholder be a practising Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
