Do you have a passion for helping churches thrive? As a Generous Giving Officer in the Church of England, you’ll play a vital role in supporting parishes to build healthy, sustainable patterns of giving.
Responsibilities
- Review current giving levels and understand financial data.
- Spot opportunities for growth and introduce practical solutions.
- Help implement easy, secure giving options such as the Parish Giving Scheme, digital platforms, and contactless devices.
- Support stewardship initiatives – creating resources, delivering presentations, and guiding PCCs and clergy step by step.
Beyond the Numbers
- Coach leaders on talking about money with confidence.
- Provide templates for giving campaigns and improve financial reporting.
- Promote good governance and troubleshoot practical issues such as Gift Aid.
- Work closely with treasurers, churchwardens, and clergy to plan for the future.
Through practical advice, training, and relational support, you’ll help churches build strong financial foundations so they can focus on what matters most: mission and ministry. This position combines two part‑time roles: one as a Giving Advisor and another to cover maternity leave for twelve months. After the twelve‑month period, the role may become full‑time, depending on the workload.
