St Mary the Virgin, Finedon
Vicar (4 days including Sunday, Stipend)
St Mary's, Finedon is a single-church parish with a rich heritage, a strong sense of community and an exciting future. We are seeking a Vicar who will provide stable, collaborative leadership, helping us build on the foundations that have been laid and guiding us into the next chapter of our life and mission together.
We are looking for someone who will:
- Lead worship with faithfulness, creativity and warmth, valuing both the richness of the Anglican tradition and opportunities for fresh expression.
- Maintain and nurture our much-loved choral tradition, including Choral Evensong, whilst widening our worshipping life to engage children, young people, families and newcomers.
- Work alongside our Assistant Priest and committed lay leaders to encourage discipleship, develop ministry and release the gifts of others.
- Build on strong relationships with local schools, community groups and organisations across the town.
- Be a visible and approachable presence within parish life, offering pastoral care, inspiring preaching and confident leadership.
We can offer:
- A warm, welcoming and inclusive congregation eager to grow in faith and discipleship.
- A dedicated Assistant Priest, experienced churchwardens, committed PCC and a wide range of active volunteer teams.
- Strong links with local schools and a growing commitment to ministry with children, young people and families.
- A Grade I listed church with an outstanding musical tradition and a recently completed major renewal project creating flexible spaces for worship, hospitality and community engagement.
- A spacious four-bedroom vicarage located just a short walk from the church.
We are seeking a priest of prayer, integrity and compassion who can inspire confidence, nurture faith, encourage others in their gifts and help us continue to flourish as a church that seeks to ‘love like God and live like Jesus’.
Serving as Vicar of St Mary's offers the opportunity to focus wholeheartedly on one historic and vibrant worshipping community, building long‑term relationships and helping the church and town flourish together.
