(HfD) Priest-in-Charge of St Mary’s, Kemp Town, Brighton
A compassionate, enthusiastic and committed church family, in the vibrant and eclectic area of Kemp Town, is looking for a man or woman of inclusive catholic persuasion to be their new parish priest. Together with leading the day-to-day ministry, expect some surprises and challenges where no day will ever be the same.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a fresh story of faith in Jesus Christ to tell
- Is a champion of inclusion and belonging
- Embraces and values diversity
- Has passion for the role the church can play in an urban community
- Is comfortable with ambiguity and the unexpected
- Has a genuine love of people
- Is a skilled and flexible communicator
- Has a modern catholic disposition
There is an enthusiastic and dedicated lay leadership. The parsonage is a three-story town house within walking distance of the church. This is a unique context in which to serve, with a committed PCC, and a context where all facets of life can be experienced.
This is a House for Duty post, with an expectation that the office holder will give the equivalent of days per week, including all or part of Sunday.
