This is an exciting time to join Christ Church Brixton Road, as our Director of Operations. This is a key role in our leadership team in support of our work to realise our vision at Christ Church Brixton Road and supporting St Matthew’s at Elephant and Castle. The role is funded until the end of June 2028 through a strategic project which is designed to not only enable church growth, directly support a bilingual parish approach (English-Spanish) where we are able to empower the Latino population and make them feel an integral part of the Church of England.
We are looking for an experienced Operations Director or Project Manager who can competently lead the smooth running and coordination of all Church operations, including the finance and fundraising operations. There is also a strategic component to the role, requiring the individual to work with the incumbent, other senior leaders and the PCC.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop the parishes’ HR functions ensuring that policy and practice support the vision of the church and reflect best practice, as well as managing some parish staff members.
- Oversight for managing the facilities at both St Matthew’s and Christ Church in line with strategic priorities and Health and Safety legislation. This will include overseeing procurement and lease/rental of facilities.
- Membership of Finance Committee and working with the Treasurer to ensure the finance function and strategic development of planning and fundraising are all efficient and effective.
- Leading on compliance ensuring implementation of procedures and policies in line with statutory requirements.
Whilst the ability to speak Spanish is not a requirement, it would help in working across our different congregations.
